Berber Dictionaries
The following collection of Tamazight Dictionaries & Etymologies cover a number of Berber languages spoken in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mali and Niger, including the Berber languages of the Sahara (Tuareg Tamahuq or Tamasheght). Some of the dictionaries are in English, a few in Arabic, while the rest are in French. Some of the dictionaries translate between Berber languages, like the Mozabi-Kabyle Dictionary. The collection also includes a few papers covering Berber etymology, and some modern Tamazight dictionaries specialising in law, animals, pathology, computer lexicon, common Berber roots, Berber grammar, and Berber curriculum for primary education in Tamazight Tifinagh. The list also includes three IE dictionaries for translating between English and Italian, and English and French. Finally Nostratic, Global Etymology, and Ancient Egyptian dictionaries may be of interest to Berber etymologists. |
